| Biography: | Dr. Angela Wu
Dr Angela C. Wu, L.Ac., O.M.D. studied in China and has been practicing Chinese medicine including Acupuncture, Herbology, Tui Na, and Qi Gong for over thirty years. She earned her doctorate in 1974 in "The scientific study of I Ching." and her O.M.D. in Ba Zi and Health in 1982. Dr Wu has conducted workshops in many countries around the world and in the U.S. In 1981 she founded the Chinese Healing Studies program at San Francisco State University, and has been on faculty at the University since. In 1982 the Governor of California appointed her to the Acupuncture Examining Committee in charge of licensing examinations, curriculum for acupuncture schools/tutorial programs, and continuing education for licensed acupuncturists. In 1993 she co-founded the HIV/AIDS and Chinese Medicine Annual Conference. Dr Wu has been the subject of many television, radio and newspaper features focusing on her Chinese Medical breakthroughs in HIV/AIDS and Fertility challenges. Dr Wu is the executive producer/hostess of Phoenix Rising a television program in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2000 Dr Wu received an Honorary Teaching Award from the National Association of Drug Addiction (NADA) in recognition of her lifelong support of the acupuncture profession in the United States, and (NADA) from its inception. Dr Wu is a senior Healing Tao instructor. In 2000, she was elected the chairperson of the Healing Tao Instructors Association. In addition to speaking at the UCSF in-service staff Fertility Experience Project funded by N.I.H., Dr Wu has been a Clinical supervisor of the UCSF Nursing practitioner Masters Degree program since 2000. Dr Wu is currently training health care professionals and the general public regarding women's health and Fertility Challenges. Dr Wu's "Welcome Babies" is a lecture and workshop series addressing the "Three PC's": Preconception, Prenatal, and Post Partum care. |
